The Norwegian soprano attained her musical education at Barratt Due Music Institute in Oslo, the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo and Stockholm University of the Arts. 

She recieved the prestigious Anders Wall Confidencen Prize while in Stockholm and was also awarded the Drottningholm Slottsteater scholarship after her rendition of Arminda in La finta di giardiniera at Drottningholm slottsteater. She has competed in Wilhelm Stenhammar International Singing Competition and was a finalist at the National Queen Sonja singing competition. 

Gunda-Marie has worked with teachers such as Susanna Eken, Barbara Bonney, Tonny Landy, Trish McCaffrey, Abbie Furmansky, Mark Tatlow, John Lidal, Solwig Grippe and Anita Soldh. However, professor Anne Nyborg has always been her greatest inspiration and mentor. 

The recent years Gunda-Marie has sung in productions at Ringsakeroperaen, Opera Trøndelag, Opera Nordfjord, Bergen National Opera, Oslo Operafestival, Operafest Røykenvik, The Flagstad Festival and many more. Her recent roles include Agathe in Der Freischütz, Nedda in Bajazzo, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, Adina in L`Elisir d`amore, Leila in Les pecheurs de perles, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas.  

In the fall of 2019 she performed a number of concerts in Asia, but then the season 2020/21 was greatly impacted by the Covid-19 situation. 

I 2016 she appeared in a recording of work by the contemporary composer Trygve Madsen.

Gunda-Marie has also performed in musical productions, such as The Sound of music, Which Witch and The Phantom of the Opera. 

This coming season she will sing the role of Musetta in Puccini`s La Boheme, perform at Operafest Røykenvik, Resonans Anniversary concert and as soprano soloist in sacred works; such as Händel`s Messiah and Bach`s Christmas oratorio.
